For near or close-in scanning distances of 30 cm (11.8 in) or less,
use the laser pointer as a guide and aim slightly to the right of the
center of the bar code. Make sure the illumination beam covers the
bar code you are trying to decode.
For standard and long range scanning distances of 30 cm (11.8 in)
or more, use the laser pointer as a guide and aim toward the middle
of the bar code. Make sure that the illumination beam covers the
bar code you are trying to decode.
When the scanner successfully reads a bar code label, you hear a
high beep, and the Good Read LED turns on briefly.
3 Release the Scan button or trigger.
Enable Access to URLs in Bar Codes
By default, scanning a bar code that contains URL information
automatically opens the corresponding webpage in the Browser app.
You can disable this feature in the Settings app.
1 Start the Settings app.
2 Tap Scanners > Security.
3 Clear the check box for Open URLs by Scanning.
