Intermec EasyCoder 501 E – Installation & Operation Ed. 1 99
Chapter 10 Options
Liner Takeup Unit
The liner takeup unit separates self-adhesive labels from the liner
and winds up the liner on an integral takeup hub. See illustrations
in Chapter 3, Installation/Media Compartment and Chapter 5,
Media Load/Peel-Off.
The internal batch takeup guide is used to wind up printed labels
or similar inside the printer for later use, for example for manual
application. It requires a liner takeup unit (see above). The internal
batch takeup guide is tted instead of the standard tear bar at the
front of the print unit. Refer to Chapter 5, Media Load/Internal
Batch Takeup for illustrations.
The media roll retainer holds the media roll in place when the
printer is not placed on a horizontal surface or when a slippery liner
makes the label roll come apart sideways. The media roll retainer
is pressed onto the media supply hub after the media roll has been
loaded. Refer to Chapter 3, Installation/Media Compartment
for illustration.
The external media guides helps to keep the media properly aligned
when an external media supply behind the printer is used, for
example a box of fan-folded tickets. The external media guides can
be tted to either the upper or lower slot in the printers rear plate.
The outer guide can be adjusted for various media widths. Refer to
Chapter 3, Installation/External Supply for illustrations.
