Intermec EasyCoder 501 E – Installation & Operation Ed. 1 77
Chapter 9 Intermec Shell Startup Program
Introduction, cont.
There can be one startup le stored in each of the following parts
of the printers memory: RAM, ROM, and a memory card inserted
in the printers optional memory card adapter. If there are startup
les stored in more than one place, they will be used with the
following priority:
1. DOS-formatted memory cards (SRAM).
2. Printers RAM memory.
3. Non DOS-formatted memory cards (SRAM or OTPROM).
4. Printers ROM memory, for example the configuration
EPROMs.
This implies that if you, for example, have Intermec Shell stored in
the printers con guration EPROMs and insert a memory card with
another startup le before you switch on the printer, the startup le
of the memory card will be used.
EPROM = Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory
OTPROM = One-Time Programmable Read-Only Memory
RAM = Random Access Memory
