7. Operating Modes
The various operating modes have specific properties
and objectives. The operator, based on the type of
wheel he is working on, must decide the desired result:
Select the Operating Mode (Chapters 1.4.2 & 10).
With the MANUAL Mode you can:
- Perform a balancing based on nominal wheel data.
- Use the arm for the entire wheel.
- Use the Easy Alu function
- Use the Menus to set the wheel data.
- Use the Menus to set a specific ALU.
- Use the Special Dimensions function.
- Use the Wheel Profiles function.
With the PROFILING Mode you can:
- Perform the balancing cycle automatically.
- Read the type of rim.
- Use the Rim Data Freeze function.
- Automatically count the number of spokes.
- Automatically read the position of the spokes.
With the OPTIMA Mode you can:
- Perform the balancing cycle automatically.
- Read the type of rim.
- Use the Rim Data Freeze function.
- Automatically count the number of spokes and read their
position.
- Read the wheel deformation (runout).
- Automatic Geometric Matching.
- TDI - general information on the tyre wear.
With the OPTIMA FULL DIAGNOSTIC Mode you can:
- Perform the balancing cycle automatically.
- Read the type of rim.
- Use the Rim Data Freeze function.
- Automatically count the number of spokes and read their
position.
- Read the wheel deformation (runout).
- Automatic Geometric Matching.
- TDI - complete information on the tyre wear.
Switching operating modes
(Fig. 7-1)
The balancer can be set so that it presents the desired
mode of operation at power-on.
 Set the desired mode in the Functions menu:
- Manual - Profiling - Optima - Optima Full Diagnostic
Then access the "Save data in permanent memory"
Parameter and set "Activate".
Note :
refer to Chapter 10 Operating Mode for the navigation
procedure through the function menus and the setting
modalities.
