Locating Pictures and Videos on a Card
Pieturesstored on M\_IC/SDCardsusea s_ldard (DCF-DigqtalCamera
Forma) agreed upon by manycamera manufacturers.Thislets Bm use the
cards in differentcameras, lfym use a card reader to retrieveynlr files,the
followingdescription of the card filestructure ma_,liehelpM.

address book milla/bunlnames copiedfrom conlputer.
SYSTEMfolder--created and usedwhileupdatingcamera firmware.
D€IM folder--root levelfolder,containsthe 100f,6330folder.Eachtimeym
aim on thecamera or inserta differentcard, anyempWfnldersxqthinthe
DCIMfnlder are removed.
100K6330 subfolder--initJally contains all picturesand _qdeosoil the card.
Picture Naming Conventions
0 Pictnresare named 100 unnn.Jl_G,and are numbered in the nrder in
/qlich the!,are taken.The firstpicture is named 1000001 .JPG;thehighest
number allm_edis 100 9999.JPG.
Q) _qlen a card containsa picture n:mled 100 9999.JPGin the
\DCI._I\I0t)R6330folder,subsequent piemres appear in a ne/_fnlder
(\DQM\101K6330),beginning_ith pictnre 1010001 .JPG.
Q) Eumifyoutransfer pictures tn the computer or deletepictures from the
camera, tilecamera conlJnnesto use consecutivenumbers fnr all
subsequent pictures. Forexample,ifthelast picture taken was
I000007.JPG and you ddete it, thenextpicture youtake is named
100 0008,JPG.
O WhenBm insert a differentcard intn}nut camera, thenextpicturemnnber
is definedbyincrementingtile higher of thelast picture taken by the
camera, or thehighestexistingpicture number in thefnlder.
