STORAGE OF THE TRACTOR
WARNING
To avoid personal injury or death:
• Do not clean the tractor while the engine is
running.
• To avoid the danger of exhaust fume poisoning,
do not operate the engine in a closed building
without proper ventilation.
• When storing the tractor, remove the starter key
from the key switch to avoid unauthorized
persons from operating the tractor and getting
injured.
STORING THE TRACTOR
If you intend to store your tractor for an extended
period of time, follow the proper storing procedures.
Proper storing procedures will insure that the tractor is
ready to operate with minimum preparation when it is
removed from storage.
1. Check the bolts and nuts for looseness, and tighten
them if necessary.
2. Apply grease to the areas of the tractor where bare
metal will rust and to pivot areas.
3. Detach the weights from the tractor body.
4. Inflate the tires to a pressure a little higher than
usual.
5. Change the engine oil and run the engine to
circulate oil throughout the engine block and
internal moving parts for about 5 minutes.
6. Keep the clutch disengaged.
If you leave the clutch engaged for a long period of
time, the clutch plate may rust, causing the
disengagement of clutch impossible when operating
it next time.

exposed hydraulic-cylinder-piston-rods with grease.
8. Remove the battery from the tractor. Store the
battery following the direction for battery storage.
(See Checking the battery condition on page 135)
9. Keep the tractor in a dry place where the tractor is
sheltered from the elements. Cover the tractor.
