3. Start the engine.
4. Turn on the pump.
5. With the Tailgate Up switch on the in-cab control panel, raise the tailgate about 3 feet (enough to
raise the safety prop).
6. Pull the safety prop upward and set it down (see Figure 2-11).

7. Lower the tailgate onto the safety prop using the Tailgate Down switch on the in-cab control
panel.
Danger!
Prior to raising the tailgate, make sure that no one is standing behind the vehicle and that
the body is empty.
