Cleaning the lift mast chain and ap-
plying chain spray
DANGER
Lift mast chains are safety elements. Incorrect clea-
ning materials may cause direct damage to chains.
Do not use cold / chemical cleaners or fluids that
are corrosive or contain acid or chlorine.
If the lift mast chain is so dusty that penetration
of the lubricating oil is not ensured, the chain
must be cleaned.
¾ Place a collection vessel under the lift mast.
¾ Clean lift mast chain with paraffin deriva-
tives such as petroleum ether.
Take note of the manufacturer’s safety infor-
mation. When cleaning with a steam jet, do
not use additives.
¾ After cleaning, immediately use com-
pressed air to remove any water remaining
on the surface of the chain and in the chain
joints.
The chain should be moved several times
during this process.
¾ Immediately apply Linde chain spray to
chain, also moving chain while doing so.
