value
In the
Federal Republic of Germany the Ger-
man La
w on Health and Safety at Work (Arb-
SchG)
states that it is up to the Employer to
asses
s which hazards are associated with
the wo
rk of employees and which Health and
Safet
y measures are required (§ 5 ArbSchG).
The re
sult must be documented (§ 6 Arb-
SchG)
. In the case of industrial truck deploy-
ments
involving similar hazard situations it is
permi
tted to summarise the results . In coun-
tries
outside the Federal Republic of Germany
the co
untry-specific regulations must be ob-
serve
d. With the list we are helping you to
compl
y with these regulations. The construc-
tion a
nd equipment of industrial trucks comply
with t
he Machinery Directive 98/37/EC and
are id
entified by the CE mark accordingly.
This m
eans that they do not fall under the
scope
involved in the assessment of hazards,
and no
r do attachments due to their own CE
marki
ng . The operator must however select
the ty
pe and equipment of industrial trucks so
as to c
omply with the local provisions for de-
ploym
ent.
In ord
er to ensure the safe usage of industrial
truck
s we not only supply every industrial
truck
with a copy of the operating manual but
also w
ith the leaflet of the VDMA (German
Engin
eering Federation) specifying the rules
for th
e proper usage of industrial trucks "Rules
for th
e Proper Use of Industrial Trucks".
The list specifies key hazards which are most
frequently the cause of accidents in the event
of non-compliance. If other major hazards are
involved at a specific plant , they must be listed
additionally.
In many plants the conditions of use for
industrial trucks are by and large similar so
that the hazards can be summarised in one
list. The pronouncements of the employers’
liability insurance association competent in
each case as regards this topic should also be
taken into account.
Ins
tructions before fitting attachments
To d
epressurise the oil in the pipes before
fit
ting an additional hydraulic attachment to
the
hydraulic system, an accumulator (special
equ
ipment) can be used. .
For this consult the section "Operate attach-
ments".
WAR
NING
Improper handling of the accumulator can lead to
serious injuries.
Before starting work on the accumulator it must
be depressurised. Please contact your authorised
dealer.
