Diesel fuel
Only diesel fuels to EN 590 with a cetane
number (CN) not lower than 51 may be used.
The fuel sulphur content must not exceed
350 mg/kg.
If the only diesel fuel available has a sulphur
content of more than 350 mg/kg, the engine oil
change intervals must be reduced as follows:
• At a sulphur content more than 350 mg/kg
and less than 2000 mg/kg = engine oil
change interval 300 operating hours.
• At a sulphur content more than 2000 mg/kg
= engine oil change interval 150 operating
hours.
NOTE
As the ambient temperature falls, the fluidity
of the diesel fuel is reduced due to paraffin
segregation. If "summer" diesel fuels are used
at low ambient temperatures, this can lead to
malfunctions. For this reason, cold-resistant
"winter" diesel fuel is available during the
colder part of the year, which can reliably be
used at temperatures down to about -22°C.
In winter, use only winter diesel fuel, so that
the fuel lines do not become blocked by
segregated paraffin. At very low temperatures
even winter diesel fuel can suffer from this
problem of segregation. Please contact your
authorised dealer.
