If the squaring is defective, follow these steps:
- Raise the arm locking handle (31) (see figure
22).
- Turn adjusting grub screws (32) so as to
move the lever and eliminate the defect.
- Lower the wedge lever again and tighten lock
nuts (33).
If the defect cannot be eliminated with the
adjusting screws, loosen screws (34) (see
figure 23) of base (35) and turn it slightly.
Once the perpendicularity of the arm to the
abutting straightedge is obtained, proceed to
the final setting of the arm index (see figure 24).
Loosen screw (36) and move index (37) until it
is aligned with the 0 position on the graduated
nonius.

- Lower the wedge lever again and tighten lock
If the defect cannot be eliminated with the
adjusting screws, loosen screws (34) (see
figure 23) of base (35) and turn it slightly.
