• MANUFACTURER: manufacturer’s name.

AME: name allocated to the protocol.

AUDRATE: communication speed expressed in bits per second (options: B300,
B600, B1200, B2400, B4800, B9600, B14400, B19200, B38400, B57600, B115200).
• P
ARITY: protocol parity (options: NONE, ODD, EVEN, MARK, SPACE).
• S
TOP BITS: NONE, ONE, ONE POINT FIVE, TWO.
• D
ATA BITS: 5,6,7,8.
• H
ANDSHAKE: NONE, XON/XOFF, RTS, RTS XON/XOFF.
• P
ORT BEHAVIOUR: NORMALLY CLOSED, ALWAYS OPEN.

OWER SUPPLY ON RTS/DTR: if the box is ticked, the Merlin provides power
supply between RTS (-) and DTR (+) pins. A typical device that requires this
feature is the Mahr Millitast 1085.

OPY function enables the user to create a new PERSONAL PROTOCOL starting from
an existing one .
NOTE: in order to access the information about the inputs handled by
a given protocol, select it from the list, tap “Copy” and view the inputs in
the “Serial Inputs” tab”. Tap “Exit” to quit.

we cannot guarantee the complete compatibility of the protocols
developed, to comunicate with these devices, due the continuous deve-
lopement performed by the manufactures of them. On demand we can
develop the protocol for a new serial device only if it is provided to us.
