Menus
îš„ By selecting the SpO

parameter window, you can access the [SpO2 Setup] menu.
îš„ By selecting the PR numeric, you can access the [PR Setup] menu.
îš„ By selecting the Pleth wave, you can access the [Pleth Waveform] menu.
8.5.2 Adjusting the Desat Alarm Limit
The desat alarm is a high level alarm notifying you of potentially life threatening drops in
oxygen saturation. To adjust the desat alarm limit, select [Desat Limit] in the [SpO2 Setup]
menu and then adjust the limit. When the SpO
2
value is below the desat alarm limit, the
message [SpO2 Desat] is displayed. In this case, the monitor will not alarm if other
physiological alarms occur.
8.5.3 Setting SpO
2
Sensitivity
To set the SpO
2
measurement sensitivity for MPM SpO
2
module, select [Sensitivity] in the
[SpO2 Setup] menu and toggle between [High], [Med] and [Low].
îš„ [High]: The monitor gives quick response to changes in the oxygen saturation level, but
the measurement accuracy might be compromised. When monitoring critically ill
patients, it is recommended that the measurement sensitivity is set to [High] so that you
can timely understand the patient’s state of illness.
îš„ [Low]: The monitor gives slow response to changes in the oxygen saturation level, but
the measurement accuracy is relatively high.
For Masimo SpO
2
modules, you can set the SpO
2
measurement sensitivity to [Normal] or
[Maximum]. The [Normal] and [Maximum] sensitivities respectively correspond to the
[High] and [Low] sensitivities mentioned above.
