When you set the language on the phone, all on-screen text (in idle/call screens, setting menus,
and applications) is displayed in the selected language.
The Mitel 6970 IP Conference Phone also supports text and character inputs in various languages.
Inputting textual or character information into the IP phone UI can be done using the dialpad on the
phone or by using the on-screen keyboard.
The Mitel 6970 IP Conference Phone provides on-screen international (QWERTY), French
(AZERTY), German (QWERTZ), Russian, and Greek keyboard layouts.You can configure the Input
Language feature using the Mitel Web UI or the IP phone UI.
Specifying the screen Language to Use using the IP Phone UI
The Mitel 6970 IP Conference Phone supports the following screen languages:
• English
•French
•German
•Spanish
• Spanish (Latin America)
• Portuguese
• Portuguese (Brazil)
•Dutch
• Italian
• Romanian
• Russian
•Swedish
• Polish
To change the phone UI language:
1. Tap the Settings softkey on the phone screen to open the Settings menu.
Note: Additional languages may be available for selection on your phone depending on the
language files available on the MiVoice Business call server. If available, these languages can be
used by selecting Local 1 or Local 2 in the Language menu.
