Setting a hot spare
Install a hard disk drive
Run the LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility
Set the hard disk drive as a hot spare
Exit the LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility
1. Install a hard disk drive to be used as a hot spare, and then turn on the server.
2. Run the LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility.
3. From the TOP menu, choose Objects and then Physical Drive.
The Objects - PHYSICAL DRIVE SELECTION MENU screen appears.
4. Move the cursor to the hard disk drive to be used as a hot spare drive, and then press <Enter> key.
5. Choose Make HotSpare.
6. When you choose Yes at the confirmation message, the indication of the hard disk drive specified as a
hot spare drive changes to "HOTSP".
