Relationship between the Unit Version of the G9SP-series Safety
Controller and Backing Up/Restoring Data Using a Memory
Cassette
The following tables tell when you can use the G9SP backup function to save the configuration data in a
CP1W-ME05M Memory Cassette and then restore the data to a different G9SP-series Safety Controller. Refer
to SECTION 11 Backup and Restore Data Using Memory Cassette for details on the backup/restore functions.
Unit Versions and Backing Up Data
To back up data from a G9SP-series Safety Controller, you save the G9SP-series configuration data in a Mem-
ory Cassette. The previous contents of the Memory Cassette will be overwritten. Depending on the configura-
tion, the backup data will be as described in the following table.
Note Refer to Function Additions and Changes for Unit Version Upgrades in the appendices for information on
new functions.
Unit Versions and Restoring Data
The following table tells when you can restore backup data that was saved in a Memory Cassette from a
G9SP-series Safety Controller for different unit versions of G9SP-series Safety Controllers.
Note The data cannot be restored because the backup data uses new functions that are not supported by unit
version 1.0 or 1.1 of the G9SP-series Safety Controllers.

This section describes additions and changes to supported functions for upgrades to the unit version of the
G9SP-series Safety Controllers.
