Servicing the DVD Drive
The DVD drive is mounted in a removable module that is accessed from the server's front. See
“Front Panel Components (Service)” on page 13. The DVD module must be removed from the
drive cage in order to service the drive backplane.

Remove a DVD Drive
This is a cold-service procedure that can be performed by a customer. Power down the server
completely before performing this procedure.
1.
Prepare for servicing.
See “Preparing for Service” on page 47.
Note - You do not need to remove the top cover to service the DVD drive.
2.
Push down on the latch on the top left corner of the DVD drive.
