To activate Single Sign-On, click on the Configure tab and navigate to Configuration > Switch to SSO User. This can
be done from any screen under the Configure tab.
The Pivot3 vCenter Plugin will request a password update to be entered and confirmed. Check the box next to Show
Password to verify accuracy; when finished, click Update.
To access the domain through these new SSO credentials, simply navigate to Configuration > Switch to SSO User. If
the same SSO user switches multiple times to SSO mode, they will not be prompted for a password.
Confirm the switch to SSO Mode by clicking Yes.
Log in again to the vCenter plugin. This time, there should not be a Pivot3 credentials request; only the vPGs given the
pivot3ssouser role credentials will now be visible in the
Logical tab. In the Physical tab, only the vPGs given the
pivot3ssouser role credentials will be accessible; the other vPGs will be greyed out and inaccessible.
To return to Classic User, navigate to Configuration > Switch to Classic User.
NOTE:
Occasionally when switching user modes between SSO mode and Classic mode, a dialog box will pop up with a
message about vSMS Rest Service. Simply click <OK> and wait a moment for the dashboard to populate itself. If this
takes longer than five minutes, refresh the browser page and log in again.
Configuring PPD for SSO Users
Pivot3 Proactive Diagnostics, or PPD, must be activated from the SSO User mode to monitor those credential sets.
NOTE:
PPD can only interact with one set of credentials at a time. If PPD is currently running in one user mode and needs to
be running in the other user mode, the settings will need to be updated from the desired user mode.
To enable PPD for SSO User credentials:
While on the Configure tab, highlight the Domain and navigate to Configuration > Proactive Diagnostics.
Fill out all information in all four tabs (this order is recommended):
