Section 16 Management through SNMP
The Acuity OS supports SNMP v2c. An SNMP-managed network consists of three key components:
Managed devices
Agents
Network-management systems (NMS)
In Pivot3 architecture, the managed devices are nodes, the agents are inside each node, and the NMS is third-party
software.

Agents
SNMP is configured at the vPG level. All agents are affected by the vPG settings, so there is no need to do anything
independently to each agent. Since nodes (managed devices) cooperate within a vPG, the agents can provide information
and traps for events on all nodes within a vPG. vPG-wide events like node failures can be reported from the agent in any
available node.
To launch the SNMP dialog, highlight the desired vPG in the Logical or Physical tree view and then select Configuration
> SNMP Settings.
