4. Once the front and rear prop shafts have been
separated, slide the rear prop shaft forward to
remove it from the transmission output shaft.
5. Remove the support bearing rubber bushing by
pulling it off the rear prop shaft.
6. Remove the rear prop shaft out of the left rear of the
vehicle.
Rear Prop Shaft Installation
1. Reverse the appropriate “Rear Prop Shaft Removal”
procedure to reinstall the rear prop shaft.
2. Lubricate the transmission output shaft splines with
Polaris All Purpose Grease.
3. Lubricate the front and rear prop shaft mid joint with
Polaris All Purpose Grease.
4. Slide the rear prop shaft forward from the left rear of
the machine just below the PVT cover. Install the rear
prop shaft on the transmission snorkel shaft.
5. Lubricate the support bushing with light oil to ease
installation and install the bushing on the rear prop
shaft bearing.
6. Align the front and rear prop shafts as shown below
and slide them together.
NOTE: Paint marks are applied to the front and
rear prop shafts to aid shaft alignment.
Reference these marks during installation if still
visible.
