Overview5.1
Postage Tracking and System Control
Your Mailing System allows you to track postage usage by Account/Department and to
add security to prevent unauthorized use of a variety of functions.
You can activate these features independently via the Accounts function and the Access
Control function. If both features are activated, the user will log in using a security PIN
Code and only have access to assigned Accounts.
You can activate these features independently via the Accounts functions and the Access

MAS can be connected to your system to track postage expenses by user.
The Accounts Function
Activating the Accounts Function is a convenient way to monitor, track and control postage
expenses by assigning Accounts to departments in your organization (Marketing, Sales,
etc.) or to different companies (if the Mailing System is shared).
When Accounts are created, the active Account is charged each time the user applies
postage to a piece of mail.
Postage Usage Reports can then be generated for each Account. For more information
seeReports on page 75 ).
Accounts from the User's Perspective
If the Accounts Function is activated, users must select an Account in order to start their
Job Run.
Once the Job Run is complete, users can change Accounts to allocate the postage
expenditures as needed.
The Access Control Function
You can set up your Mailing System to ask for a security PIN code in order to start a Job
Run.
This allows you to restrict the usage of your funds.
There are a variety of different Access Control options to choose from including:
No PIN code: Unrestricted access to all Mailing System functions.
Shared System PIN Code: Users enter a generic PIN Code to access the system.
Operator PIN Codes: Users enter a personalized PIN Code to access the system.
In this mode, Operators use only the Accounts you allow them to access to.
