Inadditiontothedangeroustargetalarmpreviouslydescribed,the
systemgeneratesanalarmwhenadangeroustargetbecomesa
losttargeti.e.itssignalhasnotbeenreceivedfor20seconds.
YourAISreceivergenerateslocalalarmswhicharedisplayedand
soundedonyourmultifunctiondisplaywheneveranalarmcondition
existsontheunit.
LocalAISalarms
WhentheconnectedAISunitgeneratesanalarm,yourmultifunction
displayshowsalocalalarmmessageandindicatesthealarmstatus
inthedatabaricon.
ActiveAISalarmslist
Theactivealarmlistshowsthestatusofeachlocalalarm.Thislist
caneitherbeaccessedviatheMenu>AISLayerSetupMenu,or
fromtheMenu>AlarmsSetupMenu.
Note:WhenlocalAISalarmsareacknowledged,thetarget
isshownasdangerous(ashing,witharedoutline),andthe
activealarmstatusiconisdisplayeduntilthetargetisnolonger
dangerous.

Inthechartorradarapplication:
1.PresstheACKNOWLEDGEsoftkey.
Note:AnAISalarmremainsactiveuntilitisacknowledgedon
yourmultifunctiondisplay.
10.12Buddytracking
YoucancongureyourdisplaytonotifyyouwhenanAIS-equipped
friendor“buddy”comeswithinrangeofyourvessel.
TheBuddyTrackingfeatureenablesyoutoaddAIS-equipped
friendsandregularcontactstoa“BuddyList”onyourmultifunction
display.AssoonasavesselonyourBuddyListsailsintotherange
ofyourAISreceiver,thevesseliconchangestoindicatethis.
Howitworks
WhentheAISLayerisenabledinthechartorradarapplication,AIS
targetsareshownonyourdisplay.YoucanaddanyAIStargetto
a“BuddyList”,eachentryconsistingofanMMSInumber,andan
optionalname.Subsequently,wheneverBuddyTrackingisenabled
onyourmutlifunctiondisplay,anda“Buddy”vesselwithanMMSI
numbersailsintotherangeofyourAISreceiver,anAISBuddyicon
isdisplayed.Upto100vesselsmaybeaddedtotheBuddyList.
Pre-requisites
ThefollowingitemsarerequiredfortheBuddyTrackingfeature:
•ForthepurposesofusingtheBuddyTrackingfeature,itis
assumedthatyourdisplayisalreadyconnectedtoasuitable
AISreceiver.
•OnlyAIS-equippedvesselswillbedetected.
Enablinganddisablingbuddytracking
1.EnableordisabletheBuddyTrackingfeature:
i.Inthechartorradarapplication,presstheMENUbutton.
ii.Usingthetrackpad,selecttheAISLayerSetupmenuitem.
iii.Usingthetrackpad,selecttheBuddyTrackingmenuitem.
iv.Usingthetrackpad,selecttheONoptiontoenableBuddy
Tracking,ortheOFFoptiontodisableit.
