Whenachartapplicationisstarted,itdefaultstoSYSTEM
view.AnywindowssettoSYSTEMviewwillhavethesame
presentationasothersystemwindowsfor:
•Chartmodeandorientation.
•Chartlayers—radarandAIS.
•Radar/chartsynchronization.
•Show/hidewaypoints,routesandtracks.
•Declutter.
•Vectors.
Ifyouchangeanyoftheseoptionsinonewindow,allsystem
windowswillbeupdated.
LOCAL

WhenLOCALchartviewisselected,thepresentationforeach
windowissetindependently.
Selectinglocalorsystemchartview
Inthechartapplication:
1.PressthePRESENTATIONsoftkey.
2.PresstheCHARTVIEWsoftkeytotogglebetweenLOCALand
SYSTEMchartviews.
Note:Themotionmodewillbesetbutnotsynchronizedacross
windowswhenthechartviewissettoSYSTEM.
Chartorientation
Theorientationofachartreferstotherelationshipbetweenthe
chartandthedirectionthatyouaretravellingin.
Itisusedinconjunctionwithmotionmodetocontrolhowyourboat
andchartrelatetooneanotherandhowtheyaredisplayedon
screen.Themodethatyouchooseisrestoredatpowerup.Any
changesthatyoumaketoachartwindowthatissettosystem
viewwillbereectedinallothersystemviewchartwindows.The
followingoptionsareavailable:
NorthUp(N-up)
InNorthUpmode,thechartorientationisxedwithtruenorth
upwards.Asyourheadingchangestheboatsymbolmoves
accordingly.Thisisthedefaultmodeforthechartapplication.
HeadUp(H-up)
HeadUpmodedisplaysthechartwithyourboat’scurrentheading
upwards.Astheheadingchangestheboatsymbolremainsxed
andthechartpicturerotatesaccordingly.
Note:T opreventcontinuousbackwardsandforwardsrotations
astheboatyawsfromside-to-side,thechartwillnotupdate
unlesstheheadingchangesbyatleast10degreesfromthelast
displayedorientation.
Note:ItisnotpossibletoselectHeadUpwhenthemotionmode
issettoTrue.
CourseUp(C-up)
InCourseUpmode,thechartpictureisstabilizedandshownwith
yourcurrentcourseupwards.Asyourboat’sheadingchanges,the
shipsymbolmovesaccordingly.Ifyouselectanewcourse,the
picturewillresettodisplaythenewcourseupwards.Thereference
usedforCourse-Updependsupontheinformationavailableata
giventime.Thesystemalwaysprioritizesthisinformationinthe
followingorder:
1.Bearingfromorigintodestination,i.e.intendedcourse.
