Theshnderpicturemaybeimpairedbyechoesreceivedfrom
oatingorsubmergeddebris,airbubblesoreventheboats
movement.Thisisknownas‘backgroundnoise’or‘clutter’andis
controlledbythegainmodes.Thesystemwillautomaticallycontrol
thegainsettingsaccordingtothedepthandwaterconditions.You
canhoweveradjustthegainsettingsmanuallyifyouprefer.
12.3Fishnderpresets
Theshnderprovidesyouwithfourpresetcongurationsavailable
ontheshndertoolbar.Theseenableyoutoquicklyselect
appropriatesettingstailoredforvarioussituations.
Eachpresethasbeenconguredtoprovidethebestoperating
parametersfortheshnder.However,itispossibletomanually
adjustthepresetsifnecessary.Thefourpresetsare:
•Single—thispresetprovidesquickaccesstoasingle-frequency
conguration,suitableforgeneralshingconditions.
•Dual—thispresetprovidesadualfrequencyconguration.
Youcaneitherdisplaytwodifferentfrequenciesatthesame
timeinonewindow,ordisplayonefrequencyatfull-screenon
yourmasterdisplayandtheotherfrequencyatfull-screenonan
additionalnetworkeddisplay.
•Shallow—thispresetopitimizestheshnderdisplayforshallow
waters.
•Deep—thispresetopitimizestheshnderdisplayfordeep
waters.
Displaymodes
Whenusingpresets,youcaneitherselecttherelevantpresetand
startusingthedefaultcongurationimmediately,oryoucanadjust
thepresettoyourneedsusingthedisplaymodes:
•Zoom
•BottomLock
•A-Scope
Anychangesyoumaketoapresetareretainedwhenyouswitch
offthepowertoyourmultifunctiondisplay.
