3.PresstheMOTIONMODEsoftkey,andselecttheARoption.
Thechartwillautomaticallymaintainaviewofbothyourvesseland
thetargetwaypointonscreen.
Settingthemotionmode
Themotionmodecontrolstherelationshipbetweenthechartand
yourvessel.
Whilstmotionmodeisactive,asyourvesselmoves,thechartis
redrawntokeepthevesselon-screen.Thethreemotionmodesare:
•RelativeMotion
•TrueMotion
•Autorange
WhenyoupanthechartortoggleFindShip/CursortoCursor,the
motionmodeissuspended.Thisisindicatedinthestatusbarby‘(
)’aroundthemotionmodeandenablesyoutoviewanotherarea
ofthechartwhilstnavigating.T oresetthemotionmodeandreturn
yourvesseltothescreen,pressFindShip.Manuallychanging
therangeinautorangealsosuspendsmotionmode.Thedefault
settingisrelativemotionwithzerooffset.Themodethatyouselect
isrestoredatpowerup.WhenachartwindowissettoSystem
view,themotionmodewillbesetbutnotsynchronizedacrossother
systemviewwindows.
RelativeMotion(RM)withoptionalvesseloffset
WhenthemotionmodeissettoRelative,thepositionofyourvessel
isxedonthescreenandthechartpicturemovesrelativetoyour
vessel.YoucanspecifyusingtheVesselOffsetsoftkey,whether
thevesselisxedinthecentreofthewindow(0offset)oroffsetby
1/3or2/3.Ifyouchangetheoffsetto1/3or2/3,theviewahead
ofyourvesselwillbeincreased.
