Thisisthedefaultmodewhenyouopenthe3Dchartapplication,
providedthatthereisavalidx.Thescreenshowsanaerialview
ofthe3Dchartasifyouareaboveyourboat,slightlybehinditand
lookingforward(virtualeyepoint).Youcanalsoviewthechart
fromdifferentpositionsrelativetoyourboat.Asyourboatmoves
forwardthechartautomaticallyupdatesandrevealsthechanging
viewahead.
Note:InActiveMotionmode,youcanadjustthepitchwhenthe
ADJUSTONsoftkeyissettoCENTER,butrotatingorpanning
thechartwillputitintoPlanningmode(seebelow).
Planningmode
Planningmodeenablesyoutoviewanareaofthechart,different
totheoneinwhichyouarenavigating,sothatyoucananalyze
locationsandfeatures.Youcanusethecontrolstoviewaparticular
areafromdifferentangles,bearingsandranges.Thechartno
longerautomaticallykeepsyourboaton-screen.Whenyouarein
Planningmode,thecontrolsandfunctionsavailablearethesame
asforActiveMotionmode.
Selectingtheactivemotion3Dchartmode
The3DchartisinActiveMotionmodebydefault.T oreturntothis
modeatanytime:
1.PresstheFINDSHIPsoftkey.
The3Dchartisre-drawn,withyourvesselintheforward-looking
viewatyourcurrentposition.
Selectingtheplanning3Dchartmode
1.Usingthetrackpad,pantotheareaofthechartthatyouwant
toview.
The3Dchartplacesbracketsaroundtheviewoptionlisted
immediatelybelowthedatabartoindicatethatthechartisin
Planningmode.Anexampleofthisis(FWD).

Multiple3Dchartinstances
Youcandisplaymultiple3Dchartviewsbycreatingapagethat
showsthe3Dchartapplicationinuptofourwindowsatthesame
time.
Eachinstanceofthe3DchartapplicationcanbeinActiveModeor
Planningmode,asappropriate.
Displayingmultiple3Dcharts
1.PressandholdthePAGEbuttonforthreeseconds,untilthe
SelectPageSetwindowappears.
2.Usingthetrackpad,highlightthepagesetthatfeaturesthe3D
chartapplication.
3.PresstheEDITPAGESETsoftkeytoeditthehighlightedpage
set.
4.Pressthesoftkeyassociatedwiththe3Dchartapplication.
5.Usingthetrackpad,highlightthepagelayoutstylethatsuitsthe
layoutandnumberofinstancesofthe3Dchartthatyouwant.
6.PresstheOKbutton.
7.Usingthetrackpad,highlightthe3Dchartapplicationinthelist.
8.PresstheOKbutton.
9.PresstheACTIVEbuttontoselectthenextwindowthatwillhost
aninstanceofthe3Dchartapplication.
10.Repearsteps8to9untilyouhavealltheinstancesofthe3D
chartapplicationthatyourequire.
