Instrument use
The FDA, CDC, and CMS recommend the following:
r Point of Care blood testing devices such as the
cobas
®
pulse instrument should be used only on one
patient and not shared.
r If dedicating blood glucose instruments to a single
patient is not possible, the instruments must be
properly cleaned and disinfected after every use
following the guidelines provided in this manual (see
the “Maintenance” section).
