Test procedure
Pull connector -arrow- off piston cooling jet control valve -
N522- . Connect connector and control valve to test instrument
adapter - VAS 5571- .
Start engine and allow to run at idling speed.
Observe oil pressure tester , disconnect connector for control
valve, and connect it again. A pressure variation must be in‐
dicated on the oil pressure tester .
Note
If the engine runs at idling speed, the oil passage to the oil spray
jets is closed. When the connector is pulled off, the oil passage
to the oil spray jets is opened. If no pressure variation is indicated,
the piston cooling jet control valve - N522- is defective, or the oil
passage to the oil spray jets is blocked.
