7.10.2 Calibration data and Contours
Overview
T
he Calibration data and Contours page can be used to do the following:
Manage calibration data
Teach-in and manage reference contours
Calibration data
F
or each safety camera sensor, calibration data is retrieved from the device and offset
against the fields to be configured.
Reference contours
A r
eference contour is created from several image acquisitions and is required for
proper functioning of contour detection fields.
You can use the same reference contour for multiple devices. When transferring the
reference contour to another device, minor deviations in the reference contour may
occur due to the conversion to the device-specific calibration data of the destination
device. If the configured tolerance zone is too small or the reference environment is
strongly contoured, then this can lead to erroneous shutdowns. In this case, increase
the tolerance zone or teach-in the reference contour again using the device.
If you use a reference contour that has been taught-in on another device, then you
must check whether a test object in direct contact with the reference contour is reliably
detected.
