2 Deflector mirror
• If the 2D LiDAR sensor cannot be mounted at the required minimum height, the
measuring points can be acquired using a deflector mirror mounted parallel to the
2D LiDAR sensor.
• The resulting extension of the light path makes it possible to save space when
mounting the 2D LiDAR sensor on the conveying equipment.
• The deflection via the mirror is free of loss thanks to its special surface metallization,
as this rules out light refraction.
• The figure above shows an example of how the 2D LiDAR sensor and deflector mirror
can be arranged above the transport belt.
• The remaining system setup and operating principle of the VMS4100/5100 satisfy the
requirements for the relevant type approval certificate.
NOTE! These supplementary operating instructions describe system variant without
deflector mirror.
