3.4 Operating modes
3.4.1 “Singulated” operating mode (cubic only)

• The objects are measured separately. Only one object can be in the measuring range
at any given time.
• Objects must pass through the measuring station separately and at a defined
minimum distance of 50 mm.
• The VMS4100/5100 detects the length, width and height of the individual objects, and
can calculate the volume of the smallest enveloping cuboid (box volume) using these
values.
• Free-running mode and triggered mode are both permitted. Triggered mode is the
default setting.
• The conveyor speed must be limited to 3 m/s.
The minimum distance of 50 mm between the objects must be maintained. The objects
must not touch or be side-by-side.
