Risk of accident due to missing or illegible warning labels
Missing or illegible warning labels can cause accidents that result in death or serious injury.
• Check that the warning labels are complete based on the documentation.
• Attach any missing warning labels to the components, in the national language if
necessary.
• Replace illegible warning labels.
Device damage caused by incorrect voltage/insulation tests
Incorrect voltage/insulation tests can damage the device.
• Disconnect the machine/system before carrying out a voltage/insulation test.
All converters and motors are high voltage-tested at the manufacturer. As a consequence,
it is not necessary to perform an additional test within the machine/system.
Risk of death due to inactive safety functions
Inactive or non-adapted safety functions can cause machine malfunctions that may lead to
serious injury or death.
• Observe the information in the appropriate product documentation before
commissioning.
• For safety-relevant functions, carry out a safety analysis of the entire system, including
all safety-relevant components.
• Assign parameters appropriately to ensure that the utilized safety functions are adapted
to your drives and automation tasks, and are activated.
• Perform a function test.
• Only put your plant into productive operation once you have ensured the correct
sequence of the safety-relevant functions.
Note
Important safety instructions for safety functions
If you want to use safety functions, you must observe the safety instructions in the safety
manuals.
