Step Activity Result
1 Switch on your PC/PG. Install the Safety ES soft‐
ware. Administrator rights are required here.
The Safety ES software is installed on your computer.
2 Start the Safety ES software and choose "Switch‐
ing device" > "New..." > "Safety relays" > "SIRIUS
Modular Safety System 3RK3."
Install the Safety ES software.
3 Connect the 3RK3 Basic central unit to your PC /
PG using the PC cable.
The MSS 3RK3 is connected to the PC / PG.
4 On the left of the navigation window, select the
"Identi󹪝cation" directory and then the "Project"
subdirectory.
5 Make entries in the following lines of the work
space:
• Project name
• Name of con󹪝guration engineer
• Con󹪝guration engineer's company name
6 On the left of the navigation window, select the
"Con󹪝guration" directory and then the "Main
system" subdirectory.
7 Drag the 3RK3 Basic central unit from the cata‐
log window to the 󹪝rst green-illuminated row in
the work space for the hardware con󹪝guration.
8 Drag the 2/4 F‑DI 2F‑DO expansion module
from the catalog window to the next empty row
(under the 3RK3 central unit added in Step 7) in
the work space for the hardware con󹪝guration.
9 On the left of the navigation window, select the
"Logic" directory and then the "Diagram 1" sub‐
directory.
