5.4-10 Fly Boom Installation
1. Put the end of the fly boom / extension cylinder
assembly into the platform end of the main
boom. Have an assistant guide it as it is inserted.
Once the end of the fly boom is safely inside the
main boom, re-sling it as required.
2. Install the bottom wear pad in the platform end
of the main boom to help the fly boom slide in.

3. Install the base-end pin when the hole aligns
with the holes in the main boom. Install the pin
with a spacer on each side. Install the bolt to
secure the pin.

4. Connect the hydraulic hoses at the base of the
cylinder.
5. Install top and side wear pads in the main
boom. Apply Loctite 242 or 243 to the wear pad
fasteners on assembly.

6. Remove the wooden block and strap. Install the
cable/hose tube onto the fly boom.

7. Connect the slave cylinder hoses to the
bulkhead fittings on the top of the fly boom tip.
8. Remove the tape from the limit switch hole on
the side of the main boom.
