Boom Section 5 – Procedures
5.4-11 Platform/Jib Installation
Procedure:
1. Lift the platform/jib assembly and slide it into
place so the fly boom nose and slave cylinder
holes line up.
2. Install the fly boom pin and pin keeper. Install the
slave cylinder pin and pin keeper.
3. Fasten the hose / cable bundle onto the jib
boom with the clamps. Secure it with tie-wraps
where required.
4. Connect the two hydraulic hoses to the jib/
platform rotate manifold on the jib boom
cylinder. Make sure the hoses are secured and
routed to avoid chafing or pinching.
5. Connect the electrical harness to the jib/platform
rotate manifold on the jib boom cylinder.

IMPORTANT
Make sure all wiring cables and hoses are routed
and secured to avoid pinching or chafing as the
machine moves.
5.4-12 Platform Control Console
Connection
CAUTION
There is a risk of personal injury or equipment
damage. Perform a function and range-of-controls
check before putting the machine into service. See
the Function Tests in the Operating Manual.
Preparation:

Once the platform is installed, make sure all
harnesses to be connected to the platform
control box are routed through the guard hoop
on the platform base.
Procedure:
1. Connect the two 24-pin cable harnesses to the
platform control box.

2. Install the auxiliary AC receptacle box to the side
of the platform control box (if it was removed
as part of the cable bundle). Install the harness
clamps.
3. Secure the cable bundle to the platform with tie-
wraps as required.
IMPORTANT
Make sure all wiring cables are routed and secured
to avoid pinching or chafing as the platform
moves.
