5.4-17 Riser Cylinder Removal
CAUTION
There is a risk of personal injury or equipment
damage. Always use suitable lifting equipment
and safe rigging practices when performing the
following procedure.
Preparation:

Make sure the machine is parked on level
ground before beginning.
Procedure:
1. Raise the main boom slightly to allow more
clearance inside the riser assembly to work.
2. Shut the machine down. Make sure the e-stops
are pushed in and the key is off. Turn the main
power disconnect switch to the off position
.
Lock out the switch.
3. Mark and disconnect the hoses for the riser
cylinder being removed. Cap the hoses and
ports to prevent contamination.
4. Attach a lifting sling to the cylinder. Using
suitable lifting equipment, tighten the strap
slightly to support it.

5. Remove the retainer bolt and rod end pin.
Remove the keeper pin and base-end pin.
6. Lift the cylinder out of the riser boom assembly.
5.4-18 Riser Cylinder Installation
1. Lift the cylinder into the riser assembly. Line
up and insert the base-end pin. Install the pin
keeper.
2. Insert the rod end pin and retainer bolt.
3. Connect the hydraulic hoses. Make sure they
are connected correctly.
CAUTION
There is a risk of personal injury or equipment
damage. Test the equipment operation before
putting the machine into service. See the Function
