Manifold and Hydraulic Pumps Section 5 – Procedures
5.9-6 Main Boom Down Relief Valve
Adjustment (RV5)
1. Locate the GP Port
1
on the main manifold,
and remove the cap.
2
1
2. Connect a pressure gauge (350 bar/5000 psi) to
GP port
1
.
3. Start the engine from the base controls and let it
run for 2-5 minutes.
4. Raise the jib boom to ensure the platform will
not contact the ground.
5. Fully lower the main boom and check the
reading on the gauge. The pressure should
be 107 bar/1550 psi. Follow the next steps for
adjusting the pressure, if needed.
6. Locate the main boom down relief valve RV5
2
.
7. Loosen the lock nut on main boom relief valve
RV5
2
. Turn the adjusting stem clockwise to
increase the pressure, and counterclockwise to
decrease the pressure.
8. Tighten the lock nut on the main boom relief
valve RV5
2
once 107 bar/1550 psi is observed
on the gauge. Note: You must fully lower riser to
activate the pressure reading on the gauge.
5.9-7 Fly Boom Relief Valve Adjustment
(RV6)
1. Locate the GP Port
1
on the main manifold,
and remove the cap.
2
1
2. Connect a pressure gauge (350 bar/5000 psi) to
the GP port
2
.
3. Start the engine from the base controls and let it
run for 2-5 minutes.
4. Fully retract the fly boom and check the reading
on the gauge. The pressure should be 103
bar/1500 psi. Follow the next steps for adjusting
the pressure, if needed.
5. Locate the fly boom relief valve RV6
2
.
6. Loosen the lock nut on the fly boom relief valve
RV6
2
. Turn the adjusting stem clockwise to
increase the pressure, and counterclockwise to
decrease the pressure.
7. Tighten the lock nut on fly boom relief valve RV6
2
once 103 bar/1500 psi is observed on the
gauge. Note: You must fully lower the riser to
activate the pressure reading on the gauge.
