The individual fields on this screen are defined as follows:
Field Name Description
VPI
[0-255] Enter a Virtual Path Identifier. VPI is an 8bit identifier to uniquely identify a network path for ATM cell packets to
reach its destination. Every ATM path requires a unique VPI number to associate. Works together with the VCI. Each
individual DSL circuit cannot have the same VPI/VCI combination.
VCI [32-65535] Enter a Virtual Channel Identifier. VCI is a 16bit identifier that has a unique channel.
.Select DSL Latency
[Path0 Fast] No error correction and can provide lower latency on error free lines.
[Path1 Interleaved] Error checking that provides error free data which increases latency.
[Path0&1 Both] Fast & Interleaved
Link Type
[EoA] Ethernet over ATM
[PPPoA] Point-to-Point Protocol over ATM
[IPoA] Internet Protocol over ATM
Encapsulation Mode
[LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING] Logical Link Control used to carry multiple protocols in a single PVC (Permanent Virtual Circuit).
[VC/MUX] Virtual Circuit Multiplexer creates a virtual connection used to carry one protocol per PVC (Permanent Virtual
Circuit).
