Test drive cable installation as follows:
1. Loosen drive clutch (refer to Section 7.5.1, Adjusting
Carriage Drive Clutch). Physically push carriage to
approximately 6" (152 mm) from each end of wash
chamber. Ensure cable is riding properly on all
roller brackets and capstan, limit switch actuator
block is centered properly, and that there are no
obstructions.
NOTE: Cable should wind on capstan smoothly
without binding or crossing over itself.
2. Correctly adjust drive clutch (refer to Section 7.5.1,
Adjusting Carriage Drive Clutch). Re-energize
washer utilities and manually operate DRIVE func-
tion through Manual Control mode. While carriage
drive system is operating, verify drive motor stops
and reverses rotation and carriage reverses direc-
tion once actuator block strikes limit switch,
3. Reverify cable tension. Do not overtighten as it will
reduce life of cable and roller brackets.
7.6 PUMP MOTOR
Pump motor must be lubricated once a year. When
necessary, grease can be completely renewed by forc-
ing out old grease with new grease.
1. If possible place a pan under motor to catch old
grease.
NOTE: Motor should be lubricated while warm.
2. Thoroughly wipe off housing around fill and drain
plugs.
3. Remove fill and drain plugs. Clear drain hole of any
hardened grease which may have accumulated.
NOTE: Depending on model and year of pump,
motor may be equipped with additional fill and drain
plugs.
4. Using a low pressure grease gun, add recom-
mended grease through fill hole until it starts to
come out of drain hole.
5. Run motor for 10 to 20 minutes to expel any excess
grease.
6. Thoroughly clean fill and drain plugs before replac-
ing them.
7.7 VERIFY SAFETY CABLE TENSION
1. Select and start any pre-programmed cycle.
2. During cycle operation, manually activate
microswitch, located on main control panel, by
pushing lever/collar against spring actuator (see
Figure 7-8).
3. Verify all washer operations immediately stop and
do not restart until lever is released.
4. Repeat verification for microswitch located on top
of cabinet in opposite direction.
7.8 QUICK-DISCONNECT PNEUMATIC
FITTINGS
To remove tubing from a quick-disconnect pneumatic
fitting (connector) that must be replaced, push outer
ring inward and pull on tubing for release.
7.9 THERMOSTATIC STEAM TRAP
REPLACEMENT
If steam trap stays open or closed all the time, replace
as follows:
1. Lock unit electrical disconnect switch in OFF.
2. Remove steam trap from unit.
3. Reconnect two parts of steam trap together and
reinstall in unit.
4. Unlock unit electrical disconnect switch, position to
ON and open unit supply valves.
5. Check for proper operation.
7.10 HEAT EXCHANGER CONTROL
ADJUSTMENTS
Washer is equipped with a steam heat exchanger and
valving system to preheat fill water. Fill water temper-
ature can be controlled by adjusting throttling valves
