6.3 DRIVING ONTO / OFF A PLATFORM TRAILER
6.3.1 Requirements
Turn the engine speed knob, and keep engine running at low speed, and control the travel
lever to move the machine slowly. Avoid move the machine in fast speed to cause hazards.
When the assembly and disassembly of the machine, select firm, level and wide ground
where keeps a safe distance with the road edge.
The ramp for assembly and disassembly should have enough length, width and height and
strength, and the gradient is 15°at most;
When using soil slope, such slope should be compacted and measures should be taken to
prevent ground collapse. When using the ladder which is equipped on the platform trailer, the
angle between the ladder and ground should not exceed 15°.
Choke trailer wheels with blocks when using ramp to prevent moving.
Steering is very dangerous while driving onto or off the ramp, thus, that should be avoided.
If necessary, return to ground or the platform of the trailer, and change the direction before
going across the ramp.
As the track of the machine is level and straight, there’ll be a sudden forward or backward
tipping while going across the junction of ramp top and the platform trailer, thus, much
attention should be paid.
It’s forbidden to swing while driving onto or off the platform trailer, so as to avoid
tipping-over.
When travelling on the ramp, don’t control any other levers except the travel lever.
Clean the ramp and the platform of the trailer completely prior to any operation.
There’s the risk of sliding on the inclined plane, ramp, and platform of the trailer if any oil
contamination, soil or ice on that.
6.3.2 Driving Onto a Platform Trailer
1. Start the engine, push the travel lever to place the counterweight toward the platform
trailer, and keep it on the same axial position with that. Make the track is opposite to the
spring board or ramp, and back the drilling machine onto the platform trailer.
2. Control the luffing mechanism to lift the drill mast, in this way, the work attachment
won’t collide with ground while the machine travels onto the ramp.
3. Drive the drilling machine onto the spring board or ramp slowly with the personnel’s
order. When travelling to the junction of the top end of inclined plane and the platform of
trailer, the machine will rock. Be cautious and adjust the drilling machine slowly to travel it
onto the platform of trailer at minimum speed.
4. Park the drilling machine on a suitable position on the platform trailer, so as to make the
