POWER4-HUB-S:
T
HINGS TO
K
NOW
x IMPORTANT: Never connect two IPC-3 / IPC-5 power
supplies to a single POWER4-HUB-S. These power supplies
are not designed to operate in parallel or series configurations.
x Logic Power will not spin a motor. However, Logic Power
will keep the motor's processor, communication and internal
sensor circuits powered.
x Do not "hot swap" DC power connectors. Turn off the
DC Bus Motor Power Supply before connecting a motor to the
POWER4-HUB-S. Connecting and disconnecting the motor
from a live power supply will cause electrical arcing that will
damage the connectors over time.
x Do not connect more than two POWER4-HUBs to a
power supply. Continuous and peak current usage must not
exceed the power supply's specifications.
x Logic Power requirement per motor
:
2W (9-24VDC)
3W (>24VDC)
IMPORTANT: The Power4-HUB-S board is not considered a shock
hazard when the Logic Power Backup Supply is 42VDC or lower (12VDC
or 24VDC is the most commonly used voltages for logic backup power).
Traces on the exposed (connector side) of the PCBA carrying Logic Power
can inadvertently come in contact with a user. Therefore, if Logic
Power is above 42VDC the Power4-HUB-S board must be
installed behind a protective cover.
