F AN M OUNTING (O PTIONAL
ClearPath motors include unthreaded mounting bosses on the rear casting
to accommodate a standard computer fan (60mm for NEMA 34 motors,
or 40mm for NEMA23 motors). To attach a fan to these bosses use
thread-cutting #6 or M3.5 screws.
Note: Accessory fans are optional and available through electronics
suppliers including Digikey and Mouser. External power is required
(12VDC or 24VDC typical).
Note: As with all electronic products, cooler is better for longest
operating life. So even though ClearPath can reliably operate at elevated
temperatures (exceeding the ratings of most other motor drives) your
system should always be designed with motor thermal considerations in
mind.
Note: ClearPath will shut down to self-protect when the rear cover
temperature reaches 80 degrees C.
