Figure 68. Acquisition Settings Tab
The gain of the detectors can be specified using the combo box(es) on the Acquisition tab. The “Automatic”
option automatically adjusts the gain used after each acquired interferogram to optimize the SNR of the acquired
spectra. To manually set the gain to use, select the desired gain from the combo box. Note that the used gain
will be changed just before acquiring the next interferogram which can take several seconds. The gain can also
be set in the Signal window (see Section 8.4.8).
9.2.2. Environment Settings
In the Environment settings tab, it is possible to set whether the temperature, atmospheric pressure, and relative
humidity saved in each interferogram and spectrum should be measured using the built-in sensor in the
instrument or be set to a fixed value.
9.2.3. Interferogram Settings
In the Interferogram settings tab, it is possible to set the processing that is applied to each collected
interferogram.
The type of apodization to apply to each interferogram is set by the “Apodization” combo box. This same setting
is available in the Acquisitions settings bar in the main window (see Figure 14). The available apodization
functions are described in Section 16.2.
In order to eliminate high-frequency spectral components, the interferograms can be cut to a shorter effective
length than that determined by the Resolution setting. To do so, check the “Cut interferogram” box (not available
for all OSA models) and specify the desired optical path difference (in millimeters). The maximum value that is
possible to specify is determined by the currently active instrument resolution.
