Chapter 90 Emergency Equipment

▶ Remove launching handle (9) (2 Allen screws).
▶ Remove GRS from the aircraft.
If applicable carry out the following steps:
▶ Reinstall top engine cowling as per Chapter 71-00-01 Top Engine
Cowling.
▶ Reinstall left and right panel as per Chapter 31-00-01 Panel.
▶ Reinstall right control stick as per Chapter 27-00-01 Control Stick.
▶ Reinstall right seat as per Chapter 25-10-01 Seats.
Installation
The following procedure can be dangerous, if the GRS unit and its
functions are not understood. In addition an incorrect reinstallation of
the GRS unit could cause a system failure in an emergency case.
Follow the applicable GALAXY instructions including their “Legal
notice” to ensure safe treatment and a proper installation of the GRS
unit (see Chapter
01-30 Related Publications
). Contact GALAXY
respectively TOMARK in case of any doubt.
DANGER Risk of unintentional rocket firing.
▶ Always contact the manufacturer before performing maintenance on
the GRS unit.
▶ Do not carry out the following procedure in closed halls.
▶ Do not allow anyone to stay in the axis of possible GRS unit fire.
▶ Do not allow anyone to stay in the direction of possible GRS unit
launching direction.
▶ Ensure the launching handle is secured by the peg with the warning
flag during the complete procedure.
▶ Follow the latest edition of applicable GALAXY instructions.
▶ Install in reverse sequence of removal.
▶ Remove safeties A and B as per GALAXY instructions before returning
the aircraft to service.
