2.Mountthecylindersecurelyinavisebyclampingontheclevisendofthe
barrel.Useofavisewithsoftjawsisrecommended.
3.Useaspannerwrenchtorotatetheinternalcollarcounterclockwiseuntilit
isfreeofthecylinderbarrel.
4.Removetheplugsfromports.Extractrod,headandpistonassemblyfrom
barrelbycarefullytwistingandpullingontheshaft.
IMPORTANT
Donotclampvisejawsagainsttheshaftsurface.Clamponthe
clevisONLY .
5.Mounttheshaftsecurelyinavisebyclampingontheclevisoftherod.
Removelocknutfromtherod.Slidepistonandheadofftheshaft.
6.Removethewearrings,seals,back−upringandO−ringsfromthepiston
andhead.

RefertoFigure62forthisprocedure.
1.Makesureallthecylindercomponentsarecleanbeforeassembly.
Note:Cleananydebrisorcorrosionfromtheendofthebarrel.
2.Coatthenewwearrings,O−rings,sealsandback−upringwithclean
hydraulicuid.
A.Installthebackupringsandsealtooutsideofpiston.
B.InstalltheO-ringtotheinnerboreofpiston.
C.InstalltheO-ring,backupringandrodsealstothecylinderhead.

Donotclampvisejawsagainsttheshaftsurface.Clamponthe
clevisONLY .
3.Mounttheshaftsecurelyinavisebyclampingontheclevisoftheshaft.
A.Coattheshaftwithalightcoatofcleanhydraulicuid.
B.Carefullyslidetheheadassemblyandthenthepistonassemblyontothe
shaft.Installthelocknutontotheshaftandtightento54N·m(40ft−lb).
C.Removetheshaftassemblyfromthevise.
4.Coatalltheinternalpartswithalightcoatofcleanhydraulicuid.Slidethe
piston/shaft/headassemblyintothebarrelbeingcarefultonotdamagethe
seals.
