RemovingandInstallingtheFrontAxle
1.Raisethefrontofthemachine;refertoJackingInstructions(page1–6).
2.Removethefrontwheelsandcasterforks;refertoRemovingtheFront
WheelandCasterFork(page7–6).
3.Removethelocknutandthrustwasherfromtheaxlepivotpin.
4.Supporttheaxleandremovethepivotpinandthrustwashers,thenremove
theaxlefromthemachine.
5.Inspecttheaxlebushingsforwearordamageandreplaceasnecessary.
Pressnewbushingsushwiththeendsoftheaxlepivothub.
6.Fittheaxleintothemachineandinstallthethrustwashersandpivotpin.
Note:Installadditionalthrustwasherstoeliminateplayifnecessary.
7.Installthethrustwasherandpivotpinlocknut.Tightenthenutfrom129to
155N·m(95to115ft-lb).
8.Installthecasterforksandfrontwheels;refertoInstallingtheFrontWheel
andCasterFork(page7–6).
9.PumpNo.2lithiumgreaseintotheaxlepivothubgreasetting.
