GASKETCOMPOUND
Usedtocreateasealbetweenmatingparts.Gasketcompoundsmay
beusedwithorwithoutthepresenceofapre-formedgasket.Gasket
compoundsmaybesolventorsiliconebased,andcurewhenexposed
toairordesignedtocureinanair-lessenvironment(anaerobic).Most
gasketcompoundsaredesignedtobeappliedtocleansurfacesfreeofoil,
chemicalresidueandpreviouslyusedgasketsorgasketcompounds.
SILICONESEALANT
Designedforabroadvarietyofsealingandbondingrequirements,
siliconesealantsareusuallyroomtemperaturevulcanizing(RTV)which
formaexiblesiliconerubberthatbondstoawidevarietyofsmoothor
porousmaterialswhencured.Standardsiliconesealantsaredesignedto
performintemperaturesfrom-51°Fto232°C(-60°Fto400°F),whilehigh
temperaturevariantscanpreformintemperaturesupto343°C(650°F).
AEROSOLPROTECTANT/LUBRICANT
Mostcommonlyusedtocoatbatteryterminals,ringterminals,andfork
terminalstoreducecorrosionproblems.Applyanaerosolprotectanttothe
connectionafteryousecuretheterminalconnection.DoNotuseanaerosol
protectantonsmallmulti-pinelectricalconnectors.
