2.Alwaysweartheeyeprotectionwhenyouperforminghydraulicsystemtests.
3.Cleanthemachinefullybeforeyoudisconnectordisassemblethehydraulic
components.
Note:Cleanlinessisrequiredwheneveryouworkonthehydraulic
equipment.Contaminationcauseswearonhydrauliccomponents.
4.Topreventhydraulicsystemcontamination,putmetalcapsorplugsonany
hydrauliclinesleftopenorexposedduringtestingorremovalofcomponents.
5.Theenginemustbeingoodoperatingcondition.Useanon-contact
tachometer(phototach)toverifyandmonitorengineRPMwhenperforminga
hydraulictest.Enginespeedcanaffecttheaccuracyofthetestreadings.
Usetheinformationbelowwhenperforminghydraulicsystemtests.Ifengine
RPMisaboveorbelowthespeciedspeedduringatest,youwillneedto
adjusttheexpectedhydraulicperformanceparameters(aprox.3%per100
enginerpmatfullthrottle)
IMPORTANT
HydrauliccomponentoutputvolumerelatesdirectlytoengineRPM.
Forevery100enginerpmthefollowingcomponentoutputvolumes
willchangebythevolumelisted.
TractionPumps:100engineRPM=1.6liters(54ounces)ofhydraulic
uiddisplacedperminute
GearPump:100engineRPM=0.7liters(23ounces)ofhydraulicuid
displacedperminute.
6.Whenyouuseahydraulictester(pressureandow),ensurethattheinletand
outlethosesareproperlyconnectedandnotreversedtopreventdamaging
thehydraulictesterorcomponents.
7.Whenyouuseahydraulictester(pressureandow),openthetesterload
valvefullybeforeyoustarttheenginetoreducethepossibilityofdamaging
thecomponents.
8.Installthehydraulicttingsbyhandandensurethattheyarenot
cross-threadedbeforeyoutightenthemwithawrench.
9.Positionanytesthosesawayfrompartsthatmaymoveduringthetest
procedure.
10.Afteryouconnectthetestequipment,checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthe
hydraulicreservoirandensurethattheuidleveliscorrect.
11.Performallthehydraulictestswiththehydraulicuidatnormaloperating
temperature.
12.Recordtheresultsofallhydraulictestsperformed.
