− After insertion of the compensator λ and rotation of the specimen by 90° (2 click stops), the
interference color remains to be white, in this case, however, it is a "higher-order white" and thus the
path difference is > 5 λ.
The compensator appropriate for this application:
Tilting compensator K 0-30 λ (Accessory 000000-1115-698)
− A dark gray as appearing interference color suggests very small path differences (λ/10 or 54.6 nm).
The compensator appropriate for this application:
Rotary compensator Brace–Köhler λ/10 (Accessory 000000-1115-703).
• Push the compensator into the slot as far as it will go.
