serviceisimplementedontheOLTandONU.Therelatedcongurationinformationisas

Thebasicparametersoflayer-2multicastcontrolincludesmulticastVLAN,source
port,receiveport,andmulticastprogramaddress.ThemulticastVLANistheVLAN
thatcarriesthemulticastdata.Thesourceportistheuplinkportthatconnectsthe
multicastsource.ThereceiveportistheONUinterfacethatconnectsthemulticast
subscriber.Themulticastprogramaddressconsistsofthegroupaddressandsource
address.
lCongurationoftheOLTmulticastprotocolmode
TheZXA10C300supportstheIPv4andIPv6multicastdualprotocolstacksoitcanbe
exiblyconguredtoaccept/droppacketsofvariousprotocols.Threeworkingmodes
(Snooping/Router/Proxy)canbeconguredbasedonthemulticastVLAN.

BasedontheITU-TG984.4standard,theOLTconguresthemulticastrightprole
totheONUviatheOMCIinterface.TheONUrunstheIGMPSnoopingprotocol,and
implementstheuserrightcontrolaccordingtothelocalmulticastrighttable.

Asthestreamingmediasuchasthemultimediavideoanddatawarehouseappearinthe
IPnetwork,themulticastapplicationgraduallybecomesthenewservicedemand.The
multicastserviceisapplicabletothestreamingmedia,tele-education,videoconference,
videomulticast(WebTV),networkgame,datacopy,andanyotherpoint-to-multipointdata
transmissionapplication.

ZXA10C300hasthecarrier-classmulticastoperationcapacity.Itsupportsmulticast
protocolsandcontrollablemulticastandsupportsafullsetofprotocolsfromthesubscriber
tothenetwork.Hence,itprovidesabasisforthebroadbandmulticastvalue-added
serviceandmulticastservicemanagement.TheZXA10C300providesoperationaland
manageablecontrollablemulticastservice,supportstheInternetGroupManagement
Protocol(IGMP)v1/v2/v3,andsupportstheIGMPsnooping,IGMPproxy,andIGMP
routermodes.
